Friday links, 9/3

Some links for your Friday viewing pleasure:

* Wake Forest rushed for 415 yards and routed Presbyterian. Here’s the AP recap, which includes a video highlight from ESPN.com. I’ve been told some trick play the Blue Hose ran was the No. 1 play on SportsCenter’s Top 10 today, and since SportsCenter is repeated at least 55.6x4(5) times every morning, I’m sure you can catch an airing of it.

* Wake Forest used four quarterbacks in the win, the Winston-Salem Journal’s Dan Collins writes.

* Wake still has plenty of questions, even with the rout, the Charlotte Observer’s Ron Green Jr., writes.

(Sorry, I couldn’t find any story where Presby coach Harold Nichols was quoted.)

* Ball State, Liberty’s opponent next week, rushed for 243 yards and beat FCS Southeast Missouri State last night. The Cardinals want to run the football, The News-Sentinel’s Tom Davis writes.

* It wasn’t an easy victory, the Ball State Daily News’ Teddy Cahill writes.

* Winning was a good feeling for Ball State QB Kelly Page, Doug Zaleski of the Muncie Star Press writes.

* The Star Press’ Greg Fallon was left with mixed impressions after the victory.

* Redshirt freshman Aaron Mershman was an unsung hero for the Cardinals, Zaleski writes.

* Linebacker Andrae Jacobs has been a nice find for the Coastal Carolina football program, the Myrtle Beach Sun News’ Ryan Young writes.

—In case you missed it on Twitter, the only two players on the Liberty depth chart dealing with injuries heading into the St. Francis game are receiver Ervin Garner and safety Corey Lillard. Flames coach Danny Rocco said Thursday that Garner, who sustained a left MCL strain last week, is out for Saturday’s game. Lillard, who pulled his left hamstring late in Wednesday’s practice, didn’t practice Thursday and will be a game-time decision Saturday.
