Opening of a seven-game homestand for the Flames, as Old Dominion visits Tuesday and St. John’s comes in for a three-game weekend set next weekend. The Flames and Hornets are meeting for the third time. Liberty leads the series 2-0. ... The Flames’ 6-0 start is their best since 1995, and Liberty will try to match that team’s 9-0 start this weekend. ... Delaware State has scored 50 runs in its three wins, beating North Carolina Central 26-2, Iona 12-3 and Savannah State 12-10. The Hornets’ losses were to Navy, Florida A&M and Norfolk State. ... In six games, opponents have swiped 16 bases against DSU in 22 attempts. ... Liberty’s Tyler Bream was named Big South player of the week after hitting .700 in three games at UNC Wilmington’s tournament last weekend. ... Delaware State went 19-25-1 last season and was eliminated in two games at the MEAC tournament. The MEAC includes Coppin State, which has lost 41 games in a row.
