Liberty football notes, weekly picks, 10/15
Couple of promos, first:
- The Twitter feed is here.
- A link to today’s N&A story on Liberty safety Chris Rocco can be found here.
- Here’s Josh Hoke’s story on Liberty’s Tommy Beecher from today’s Myrtle Beach Sun News.
Now, a couple of Liberty notes:
- Liberty safety Larry Claiborne is doubtful for Saturday’s game against Coastal Carolina due to a neck/shoulder injury, LU coach Danny Rocco said Thursday. If Claiborne can’t go—and he’ll be a game-time decision—look for freshman Brent Vinson to get more playing time and maybe start. Also, cornerback Tim Torrence worked exclusively at safety Thursday at practice in case he’s needed in that spot. If Torrence shifts, then Kajuan Lee gets the start at corner.
- Right tackle Justin Vargas has practiced this week and will play Saturday, but Soeren Wendland will start the game. Center Aaron Lundy, who has been out all season with a broken foot, returned to practice this week but Rocco said Lundy will not play against the Chanticleers.
Moving on to this week’s FCS/Big South picks.
