Virginia Tech released its men’s basketball schedule today. It includes some interesting home and away non-conference games and, of course, another brutal ACC slate.

Of note ...

*The Hokies play two Big Ten teams on the road this season, one against Iowa on Dec. 1 as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, and another against Penn State on Dec. 12. They also play Georgia at home.

*VMI and Longwood both make trips to Blacksburg.

*Tech plays Seton Hall in Cancun, Mexico, on Jan. 2. The game doesn’t appear to be a part of any kind of tournament, maybe just an excuse to go to Cancun in January.

*The Hokies open their ACC sched at defending champion UNC on Jan. 10 in a nationally televised game on FoxSportsNet. They play UNC twice—the Heels visit Blacksburg on Feb. 4—and Duke only once, in Durham on Feb. 21. Tech also plays Miami, BC, Virginia and N.C. State twice this season.
