Wilson among five Hokies to earn All-Academic honors

Danville native David Wilson and Gretna native Bennett Fulper both earned selections to the 52-member 2010 All-ACC Academic Football Team.

Wilson, a George Washington High graduate, is a sophomore running back/kick returner at Virginia Tech. Fulper, a Gretna High grad, is a sophomore center at Maryland.

Wilson was among five Virginia Tech players to make the team. The Hokies had the third-most selections, behind Duke (13) and Clemson (6).

Four Maryland players made the team.

The other Virginia Tech players to earn selections were wide receiver Danny Coale, defensive end Chris Drager, defensive tackle John Graves and center Beau Warren.

Virginia placekicker Robert Randolph also made the team.

To earn All-Academic honors, a player must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative GPA average during the academic year.
